Data protection declaration

For RINGANA, the sensitive use of all data that users share when they visit the website https://www.ringana.com (hereinafter the “Website”) is extremely important. The collection, processing and use of all data is undertaken exclusively on the basis of the prevailing statutory requirements, most notably the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which applies in the European Union, the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG), the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021 (TKG) and the respective valid country-specific laws governing the protection of personal data of private persons. Hereinafter we explain the types of data that is collected when you visit the website:

Processing of personal data

The Website may be visited without registration and without disclosing personal data. Only the details of the user’s internet provider are collected, i.e. the user’s designated IP address.

Above and beyond that, only personal data that has been provided explicitly and voluntarily by the user is collected. Such data may be provided by the user when they register on the website, for example. In this case users are asked about their personal details and have the option of providing data that is useful for communication between RINGANA and the user. This data is the user’s name, the user’s gender, and the user’s address and e-mail address. Furthermore, every time an individual visits the Website, their IP address, time of their visit and their geodata are saved. Such information is only used by RINGANA for a specific purpose and in compliance with the applicable statutory requirements. Beyond that, data is only used with the explicit consent of the user. A user may object to the use of their data at any time. In this connection, see “User Rights” below.

DECLARATION OF CONSENT BY THE USER: The user explicitly agrees that RINGANA may process the user’s personal data outlined above for the purpose of providing access to the contractual services (use of the website www.ringana.com and, most notably, to the Online Shop to purchase RINGANA products), to communicate with the user (in particular to send newsletters) and to analyse user behaviour.

The user may withdraw their declaration of consent to this Privacy Policy without specifying any reasons by writing to RINGANA (office@ringana.com or to: RINGANA GmbH, Ringana Campus A 1, 8295 St. Johann i. d. H., Austria) whereupon any further use of data by RINGANA apart from the necessary purpose of fulfilling a contract will be prohibited.

[1] Note: This list does not purport to be complete as individual third-party providers update and change their cookies on an ongoing basis.

To prevent cookies being placed by advertisers, you can also block third-party cookies in your browser. You can see instructions for the most commonly-used browsers – Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer – here. Third-party cookies are blocked as standard on Apple Safari.

RINGANA uses a cookie banner to inform you about the use and/or placement of cookies. You consent to the placement of cookies if, after seeing the information about our cookie banner, you continue to navigate on our website.
Via a link in the cookie banner you can obtain further information about the individual cookies. You can adjust your browser settings to block the placement of individual or all cookies.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, for the purpose of analysing website user behaviour.  The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. RINGANA uses IP anonymisation, so if you are within a member state of the European Union or another country which is a signatory to the European Economic Area Agreement, Google will abbreviate your IP address beforehand. Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the RINGANA website, compile reports on website activity and provide other services relating to website activity and internet usage to RINGANA. Google does not associate the anonymised IP address transferred to Google Analytics from your browser with other data that could be used to identify you

You can prevent the placement of cookies by adjusting your browser settings. We would however point out that if you do so, you may not be able to make full use of all of the website’s functions.

You can furthermore prevent the transfer of the data related to your use of the website (including your anonymised IP address) to Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin provided in the following link http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is RINGANA’s legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6, para 1(f) GDPR. Analysis of website usage and statistical evaluation are undertaken to further improve the website and make it more user-friendly

This data is forwarded to Google for the purposes listed.

Facebook

RINGANA uses Facebook Ads on the Website. Facebook is a social media network operated by Facebook Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland.

We only wish to show our services and products to individuals who are really interested in them. With the help of Facebook Ads we can reach exactly those people. By using individual Facebook tools, personal data can be sent to Facebook. Depending on the tools used, customer data such as name, address, telephone number and IP address may be sent.

Facebook uses this information to compare this data with the data which it already has about you (if you have a Facebook account). Before customer data is transferred to Facebook, what is known as “hashing” takes place. This means that a dataset of any size is transformed into a coded string of characters. This also serves to encrypt data.

Apart from contact data, event data are also transferred. Event data are defined as the information that we receive about you on our website, such as what subpages you visit or what products you buy from us.

Facebook does not share the information it receives with third-party providers (such as advertisers) save where the company is explicitly authorised or is under a legal obligation to do so. Event data can also be associated with contact data. This allows Facebook to personalise its advertising better. Facebook erases the contact data once the above-mentioned matching process has been completed.

You can find general information about the use of Facebook cookies on https://www.facebook.com/policies/cookies.

In general, Facebook stores data until such time as it no longer needs it for its own services and Facebook products. Facebook has servers all over the world where data is stored. However, once customer data has been compared with Facebook’s own user data, it is erased within 48 hours. Data is only completely erased if you shut down your Facebook account.

YouTube

The RINGANA Website contains YouTube videos. YouTube is a video portal operated by YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. If you visit a page on our Website containing an embedded YouTube video, your browser will automatically connect you with the servers of YouTube or of Google, which is YouTube’s parent company. All data processing within Europe is the responsibility of Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street Dublin 4, Ireland).

As soon as you visit a RINGANA Website page containing a YouTube video, YouTube will place at least one cookie that stores your IP address and our URL. If you are logged in to your YouTube account, YouTube can usually associate your interaction on our Website with your profile, with the help of cookies. This includes data such as session length, bounce rate, approximate location, technical information such as the type of browser, screen resolution or your internet provider. Further data may include contact details, any reviews you have given, sharing content via social media, or adding items to your favourites on YouTube.

The data that YouTube receives from you and processes is stored on Google servers. Most of these servers are located in the USA. You can see where the Google data centres are at https://www.google.com/about/datacenters/inside/locations/?hl=de. Your data is spread across a number servers. This means that data can be retrieved faster and is better protected against manipulation.

The data that Google collects is retained for different periods. You can erase some data at any time, other data will be automatically erased after a limited period, while other data will be stored by Google for a longer period. Some data (like elements from “My Activity”, photos or documents, and products) that are saved on a Google account remain stored there until you erase it. Even if you are not signed in to your Google account, you can still erase some data that is associated with your device, browser or app.

Vimeo

RINGANA also uses videos from Vimeo on its Website. This video portal is operated by Vimeo LLC, 555 West 18th Street, New York, New York 10011, USA. This allows us to show you interesting video material directly on our website with the help of a plugin.

If you visit a page on our Website that contains an embedded Vimeo video, your browser will connect with Vimeo’s servers, and data is then transferred. This data is collected, stored and processed on Vimeo servers. Vimeo collects data about you regardless of whether you have a Vimeo account or not. This includes your IP address, technical information about your type of browser, your operating system or basic information about the device you are using. Vimeo also stores information about the website on which you are using its services, and what actions (web activities) you are performing on our Website. These web activities for example include the session length, bounce rate, or which buttons you click on any of our pages containing an embedded Vimeo function. Vimeo can track and store these activities with the help of cookies and similar technologies.

If you are logged in to Vimeo as a registered member, more data can usually be collected since more cookies may already have been placed on your browser. In addition, your activities on our website will be directly associated with your Vimeo account. To prevent this, you must log out of Vimeo before you visit our Website.

Amongst other purposes, Vimeo uses this data to improve its own service, to enter into contact with you, and to take its own targeted advertising measures.

Vimeo’s services are available worldwide. The company therefore uses computer systems, databases and servers in the USA and in other countries. This means that your data may be stored on servers in the USA and processed there. Vimeo retains the data until the company no longer has any commercial need to keep it. The data is then erased or anonymised.

You can adjust cookie settings in your browser at any time. If, for instance, you do not want Vimeo to place cookies and thus gather information about you, you can delete or deactivate cookies in your browser settings.

You can see information about Vimeo’s privacy policy at https://vimeo.com/privacy.
